An All-NESCAC honoree and team captain as a senior, Poehler will be one of seven new members to be honored this October in the university’s annual ceremony.

Named a three-time ECAC Player of the Week, Poehler garnered All-NESCAC honors in his senior season. A member of two Codfish Bowl Tournament championship teams, Poehler currently has a spot in the UMass Boston Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 1966–67 Boston State College men’s basketball team.

A four-year starter, Poehler was the Warriors second-best scorer as both a sophomore and junior, recording 16.0 and 12.7 points per game respectively. During his junior season, he helped the Warriors to a NESCAC title. In his second season at Boston State, Poehler set the record for points in a game by a sophomore with 34 and most free throws made with 12. As a senior, he finished as the Warriors top shooter averaging an impressive 18.3 points per game.
