Kerri Quinn excelled in basketball and softball at UMass Bostonand was a four-year starter in both sports from 1989-1994. Thetwo-year captain for softball batted .328 or better in three of herfour campaigns with a freshman debut season that saw her hit .344(21-61). She capped her career by leading the Beacons with a .397(25-63) batting mark and finished with a career .339 (83-245)batting average to rank eighth in school history. Quinn led UMB inruns scored three times and owns the career mark with 80 runsscored, while her season total of 24 as a senior is thefourth-highest mark. The shortstop maintained a .432 career on-basepercentage in 74 games and is prominent on the UMass Boston careerladder with 83 hits (fourth), 39 bases on balls (fifth), 97 totalbases (seventh) and 33 runs batted in (10th). The 1995 UMB graduatewas pretty good with the glove as well, ranking fourth in schoolannals with 191 career assists and 10th with 182 putouts. She wasalso one of the best three-point shooters in UMB basketballhistory, canning 133 treys for her career to rank third amongBeacons' players and nailed a school-record eight trifectas atRhode Island College on December 8, 1990. The guard knocked down 40or more three-pointers in three different seasons and her streak of14 games with at least one made three-pointer is the second-longestin school history. Quinn was a co-captain as a senior and sank76.2% (80-105) of her free throws that year for the second-mostproficient mark in school annals as part of a career percentage of.715 (178-249), which is the fourth-best all time at UMB. TheWeymouth native finished her career with 963 points in 87 games toaverage 11.1 points per game for her career and place her seventhon the Beacons' all-time scoring list. Quinn could also distributethe basketball, leading the team in assists twice, while dishingout 211 career helpers to rank sixth at UMass Boston.
