Perhaps one of the greatest wrestlers in Boston State history,Louis Mancini '73 was a four-year letter winner with theWarriors.  During one of the most distinguished careers in theprogram's history, Mancini posted an undefeated 42-0 record indual matches.  Named a three-time co-captain by his coachingstaff and teammates, Mancini was perhaps the greatest competitor inthe 142 lbs. weight class.

As a sophomore, Mancini led the Warriors to a third place finishat the New England State College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)championship tournament.  It was in that year that Mancininotched his first conference championship, with a win in the 142lbs. division.  He was selected as the tournament’s MostValuable Player as well.  Named a two-time team MVP, Manciniclosed out his college career with an overall record of48-5. 

In the classroom, Mancini earned a pair of bachelor’sdegrees, first earning his BS in Physical Education from BostonState.  He then earned his BS in Art from Framingham StateCollege.  Mancini then spent the next 30 plus years coachinghigh school wrestling, cross-country, and track andfield. 

After a 33-year career at Ashland High School in Ashland,Massachusetts, Mancini retired from the education system. However his dedication to children has not waivered as he continuesto sponsor physical fitness programs for the children ofAshland.

Today, Mancini owns and operates his own business, ManciniSigns.  He and his wife Geri still live in Ashland with theirthree children Michelle, Brenda, and Paul.  They are also theproud grandparents of five grandchildren.
