The 1986-87 Indoor Track and Field Team captured UMass Boston'sthird straight indoor NCAA III title and boasted 12 All-Americaperformances and two individual champions as well as a relay crownduring its championship run. Genesia Eddins' blazing performance inthe 800 meters still stands as the NCAA record with a time of2:06.89, while Murtonda Durant's first place time stood as thestandard for 10 years and the 4X400 relay quartet's mark was thebest for 15 years. The squad also won the ECAC indoor crown, pacedby seven first place finishes and one meet record. Six competitorsearned All-New England status as the Beacons finished third at theNew England Championships, while taking two first place showings.Members of the squad include: Patsy Booker, Delores Booth, DarrelleBoyd, Charlene Byrd, Julie Croke, Marie Daniels, DebbieD'Entremont, Murtonda Durant, Genesia Eddins, Andrea Flash, JackieJames, Sharon Jones, Eileen Kelly, Sonji Larts, Thayer Plante,Jeanette Procaccini, Carol Thomas, Sarah Trask, Rosalind Williams,Head Coach Sherman Hart and Assistant Coach Geoff Hennessey.
