UMass Boston Athletics Hall of Fame
Voted a two-time UMass Boston men’s hockey Most Valuable Player, Tufman garnered a variety of conference, regional, and national honors. He was a two-time Joe Concannon Award finalist, which is given annually to the best American-born hockey player in New England.
As a senior, he was named an All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. As a senior he earned All-ECAC East honors, and for his efforts in the postseason he was named an All-Tournament selection.
As a freshman, he landed on the All-Rookie team and would go on to earn six ECAC East weekly honors. To date, Tufman ranks amongst the top forwards in program history in multiple categories, including assists (70), total points (113), and goals scored (43). In 2009 he led Team USA to the Gold Medal at the World Jewish Ice Hockey Championship in Metulla, Israel.
During that tournament, he tallied three goals and seven assists in a mere six games played.
