PROVIDENCE, RI. (May 14, 2026) -- Following the conclusion of the 2026 Little East Conference softball season, five members of the Beacons' program have been selected for postseason all-conference honors, headlined by one of the conference's top individual award.
UMass Boston's haul includes the LEC Rookie of the Year, two All-LEC First Team selections, three All-LEC Second Team selections, and one All-LEC Rookie Team selection.
Liv Wentworth (Fitchburg, Mass.) – LEC Rookie of the Year | All-LEC First Team | All-LEC Rookie Team (Shortstop)
Wentworth announced herself as one of the premier players in the Little East Conference in her very first season as a Beacon. The shortstop batted .344 across all 40 games with 43 hits, six doubles, five triples, one home run, and 22 RBI, while posting a .410 on-base percentage. Wentworth was a constant presence on the basepaths as well, swiping 12 bags in 13 attempts. Defensively, she was equally impressive, handling 165 total chances at shortstop with 91 assists on the season. Wentworth's performance earned her recognition on three separate all-conference lists, making her the first UMass Boston softball player to claim the LEC Rookie of the Year award since Roxanne Vento in 2016, and the fourth Beacon to win the award in program history.
Izzy Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) – All-LEC First Team (Utility)
Levasseur capped her Beacon career with an outstanding two-way season. At the plate, Levasseur batted .355 with 22 hits, five doubles, one home run, and 17 RBI in 25 starts, posting a .394 on-base percentage. In the circle, she was even more dominant, going 6-3 across 13 appearances with a 2.74 ERA over 66.1 innings, striking out 30 batters while allowing just 26 earned runs. She also contributed flawlessly in the field, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Levasseur's ability to impact the game in multiple phases made her one of the most valuable players in the conference.
Lauren Miner (Millbury, Mass.) – All-LEC Second Team (Third Base)
Miner was one of the most explosive offensive players on the roster in 2026. The third baseman slashed .402 (AVG) /.471 (OB%)/.787 (SLG%) across 38 games, collecting 49 hits with nine doubles, four triples, and a team-high 10 home runs to go along with 50 RBI — both team highs. She also stole 19 bases in 21 attempts and scored 37 runs on the season, making her one of the most dynamic threats in the Beacons' lineup from top to bottom.
Lauryn Meade (Hanson, Mass.) – All-LEC Second Team (Pitcher)
Meade was the workhorse of the UMass Boston rotation in 2026, leading the staff in every major pitching category. In 18 appearances covering 98.0 innings, she posted an 11-5 record with an impressive 1.79 ERA, striking out 92 batters while allowing just 25 earned runs. Meade completed 12 of her 16 starts and threw five shutouts on the season, anchoring a pitching staff that held opponents to a collective .249 batting average. Her 1.79 ERA ranked among the best in the conference.
Sofie Richland (Burlington, Vt.) – All-LEC Second Team (Outfield)
Richland was a model of consistency and on-base efficiency for the Beacons throughout the 2026 campaign. The outfielder batted .358 with 43 hits, five doubles, a triple, and 15 RBI across 36 starts, walking 14 times to post a .430 on-base percentage. Richland was also a threat on the bases, going a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts. She was equally reliable in the field, committing zero errors across the season for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield.
