Beacons Volleyball Earns Third Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 21, 2025) – The UMass Boston volleyball program has once again been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award along with Team Academic Honor Roll distinction.

To qualify for the AVCA Team Academic Award, volleyball programs must maintain a minimum 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale throughout the entire academic year. More than 1,450 programs across all divisions received the honor this year.

The AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll distinction is awarded to programs that rank in the top 20% of GPAs in their division. This marks the second consecutive year the Beacons have earned this elite designation.

With this year's honor, UMass Boston volleyball has now received the AVCA Team Academic Award three years in a row (2023, 2024, 2025), continuing a tradition of academic excellence that complements their success on the court. The Beacons were also one of only four teams in the Little East Conference (LEC) to receive the award, and the only LEC program to earn the Honor Roll distinction in 2025.

In addition, UMass Boston volleyball was awarded the 2025 LEC Team Academic Award, repeating as the top academic program among volleyball teams in the conference.

Congratulations to the Beacons volleyball team on another year of outstanding academic achievement.
