BOSTON, Mass. (November 8, 2025) – UMass Boston volleyball (14-12, 6-2 LEC) closed out its regular season with a decisive 3–0 sweep over the Plymouth State Panthers (20-7, 6-2 LEC) on Saturday afternoon from Clark Gymnasium, clinching the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming Little East Conference Tournament.
The Beacons rolled through the first two sets, taking them 25–17 and 25–16. After Plymouth opened the second frame with a brief two-point lead, UMass Boston responded with a seven-point unanswered run and never looked back, dominating the rest of the set.
In the third, the Beacons raced out to a 15–3 lead behind a flurry of early kills and strong serving. The Panthers clawed back to within six, but UMass Boston closed the match emphatically, as Addie Blomgren (Riverside, Ill.) delivered back-to-back kills to seal the sweep, 25–19.
The Beacons totaled 41 kills, led by 11 apiece from Mya Perron (Beverly, Mass.) and Paige Coulson (Marriottsville, Md.). Setter Audrey Cofield (Ypsilanti, Mich.) dished out 34 assists and added three of the team's seven service aces. Defensively, Lauren Westlund (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the Beacons with 14 digs, while Blomgren anchored the front line with five total blocks.
UMass Boston will host the LEC Tournament Semifinal against the winner of the Keene State–Plymouth State quarterfinal matchup on Thursday. Match time will be announced at a later date.
