Boston, MA (May 1st, 2025) — UMass Boston softball travels to Eastern Connecticut State to take on the Warriors on Friday, May 2nd, for their last LEC matchup and the final games of the regular season. The first game of this double header will take place at 4 p.m, with the second game following at approximately 6 p.m.

Beacons: 

• The Beacons split their most recent doubleheader against the University of Southern Maine Huskies at home on Tuesday, April 29. 
• Bri Melchionda (Marshfield, MA.) totaled four hits in the double header. She also pitched a complete game in game one, going seven innings while allowing only one earned run and recorded nine strikeouts. 
• Hayley Krockta (Tauton, MA) leads the Beacons in both RBIs (35) and homeruns (2). 
• Seven Beacons batters head into the regular season finale with a batting average above .320, with Melchionda leading the way with .476. 
• Mary Matthews (Wilsonville, Ore.) leads the team in triples with five and ranks second in total bases (55) and batting average (.374).
• Beacons pitchers have combined for a 1.86 ERA this season, totaling 211 strikeouts and just 73 walks.  
• Jacqueline Cherry (Franklin, MA) has posted a 1.77 ERA over 95 innings pitched this season, with a team high 92 strikeouts.
