Boston, MA (March 25th, 2025) — UMass Boston softball returns home to face the Emmanuel Saints in their first home game of the season. This will be followed by a home game against the Rivier Raiders on March 27th and the Beacons' first LEC game against the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs on March 29th.

Beacons
- The Beacons are coming off an 8-0 win against University of Maine-Farmington, where Bri Melchionda (Marshfield, Mass.) delivered an outstanding performance, pitching a complete game shutout with six strikeouts and allowing only two hits.
- The Beacons are boasting a perfect 10-0 record so far this season.
- March 29th against UMass Dartmouth will be the Beacons first LEC game this season.
- Beacons pitcher Jacqueline Cherry (Franklin, Mass.) was recently named LEC pitcher of the Week. Cherry holds a 4-0 record, including three complete games. She has yet to let up an earned run in 22 innings pitched this season.
- Six Beacon batters with 10 or more at-bats currently hold a batting average above .350.
- Sofie Richland (South Burlington, VT) leads the team in hits (14) and doubles (3).
- Amauri English (North Providence, R.I.) and Hayley Krockta (Taunton, MA) lead the team in RBIs with 13 each.
Saints:
- The Saints are coming off a 13-12 loss to Salve Regina University.
- The Saints are currently on a 4 game losing streak, with their last win coming on March 20th against Emerson College.
- Francesca Pizzarella leads her team with 20 hits and 28 total bases.
- Taylor Chelak leads the saints in doubles with nine.
Raiders:
- The Raiders are posting a teamwide .304 batting average.
- The Raiders have scored double-digit runs in four games this season, including both games of a double header against Fitchburg state (March 22nd).
- Rivier pitchers have combined for a 5.27 ERA this season with an equal amount of walks and strikeouts (35 each).
- Hannah Muchemore and Kylee Caetano share the lead for total hits for the Raiders with 14 each.
Corsairs:
- This matchup marks the first LEC game of the season for both the Beacons and the Corsairs.
- Four different Corsair batters are hitting over .400 on the season.
- Lena Tsonis (New Bedford, MA) leads the Corsairs in home runs with two.
