After a standout week on the ice, UMass Boston junior captain Jack Mortson has been named Little East Conference Player of the Week. 

Mortson powered the Beacons offense this weekend, posting a three goal weekend as the Beacons went 1-1 at the Utica Thanksgiving Showcase. Mortson scored twice against 10th-ranked Utica on Friday in a 5-4 overtime loss, knotting the score at two with 1:18 left in the first before pulling UMass Boston back within one, 4-3, at 6:37 of the third. In game two, Mortson scored what proved to be the game-winner in the second period of a 2-1 win over SUNY-Morrisville on Saturday.

Mortson and the Beacons will be back at the Barry on Saturday to host Roger Williams at 4:00 PM.
