Providence, RI (November 24, 2025) -- The Little East Conference announced this week's LEC Players of the Week, with UMass Boston first-year goalie Alex Koenig (Manhattan, Calif.) being named both Rookie and Goalie of the Week for an outstanding performance over the weekend.

Koenig delivered the biggest outing of his early Beacon career this weekend, backstopping UMass Boston to a massive overtime upset over nationally ranked Norwich University.

Koenig was rock solid all night, finishing with a career high 32 saves, including several clutch stops late in the third and in overtime as the Cadets pushed hard for the winner, gaving the Beacons the stability they needed to close out one of their most impressive wins this season.

Up next for UMass Boston men's ice hockey is the Utica College Thanksgiving Showcase, with round one on Friday, at 7:30 pm in Utica, N.Y.
