Broughal Earns Second Team All-LEC Honors

Senior middle earned her first All-Conference honor after a standout season

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior hitter, Taryn Broughal was named a Little East Conference Second Team honoree for the first time in her career as announced by the conference office.

In her senior season, the Connecticut native is averaging over 2.09 kills per set, and ended the campaign with 190 kills.

Broughal posted a hitting percentage of .239, which was second best on the team. Defensively, Broughal had a breakout campaign scoring 23 block solos and 48 block assists for 71 total blocks, which are all career bests.

She also had 49 digs to her credit and 38 aces.

In 2022, Broughal posted 10 or more kills in eight matches. She hit a career-best .769 in the 3-0 win over Castleton to help the Beacons earn a spot in the LEC Tournament. Against UMass Dartmouth in the LEC Tournament Quarterfinal round, Broughal led the block party with her eight stops to give UMB a 3-2 win over the Corsairs.

Fellow senior McKayla Geraghty was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
