Swarthmore, Pa. (Aug. 30, 2025) — The UMass Boston Beacons put up a strong fight on Saturday, going head-to-head with tournament host Swarthmore College and top-ranked Juniata College, but despite their efforts, ultimately fell in both matches.
Match 1: Swarthmore 3, UMass Boston 1
The Beacons opened the day with a strong showing against the tournament hosts. After dropping the first two sets, UMass Boston stormed back with a 25-22 win in the third, showcasing their resilience. Though Swarthmore closed it out in the fourth, the Beacons made them earn every point.
Match 2: #1 Juniata 3, UMass Boston 0
Taking on the nation's top-ranked team less than an hour later, the Beacons battled Juniata point-for-point in the opening set, narrowly falling 25-23.
