BOSTON, MA (August 18, 2025) – The UMass Boston volleyball program and head coach Stacy Cheney have announced the Beacons' schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. The Beacons will compete in 26 total matches, beginning with opening night on August 29 and concluding the regular season on November 8. The Beacons are looking to build upon a solid 2024 campaign, where they finished 19-9 (6-2 Little East Conference) as the LEC No. 3 seed, their best season since 2016 when the Beacons were LEC Champions and made an appearance at the NCAA Regional tournament.

The season opens on Friday, August 29, in Swarthmore, Pa., at the Garnet Invitational hosted by Swarthmore College. The Beacons will face the Cortland Red Dragons at 4:00 p.m., the first of three matches they will play in the invitational, with the final match of the Swarthmore invite scheduled for Saturday, August 30, at  4:00 p.m. against Juniata College.

This year's schedule includes 13 away contests, four neutral-site games through tournaments and tri-meets, and nine home matches. Four of the home matches will be LEC contests, beginning Wednesday, October 8 against the University of Southern Maine at 6:00 p.m., and running through the regular season finale against Plymouth State on Saturday, November 8. The Beacons will open LEC play on October 4 at Rhode Island College in Providence, R.I., at 11:00 a.m.

UMass Boston will host its first home match on Friday, September 5, against the Salem State Vikings as part of the program's annual Senior Day celebration, honoring the graduating seniors from the Class of 2026. The Salem State match is the first of three contests in the UMass Boston-hosted round robin, with the Beacons also facing Emerson College on Saturday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m., and the College of Saint Benedict at 6:30 p.m. Admission to home games is free across all sports.
