BOSTON, Mass. (July 24, 2025) – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced its 2025 Academic Honor Squads and Academic Honor Roll recipients, with UMass Boston earning recognition in both categories. This marks the first time in program history the Beacons have received IWLCA academic honors.
UMass Boston was named one of 376 Academic Honor Squads across all NCAA divisions, and one of just 142 Division III programs honored. The Beacons were also one of four Little East Conference (LEC) programs to earn the distinction. To qualify, teams must achieve a collective GPA of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.
In addition to the team award, four Beacons were named to the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll: Elizabeth Crowley (Medfield, Mass.), Emily Hansen (Lake Villa, Ill.), Jamie McAleavey (Quincy, Mass.), and Teresa Sheedy (Quincy, Mass.). To qualify, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. The quartet represented four of just 26 student-athletes from the LEC to be recognized, and were among 1,284 total honorees in Division III.
Congratulations to the Beacons women's lacrosse team for their continued excellence in the classroom and on the field.
