Berrios Receives LEC Postseason Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (March 5, 2025) -- The Little East Conference announced the winners of the 2024-25 Women's Basketball Postseason awards, including the Beacons' standout sophomore Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.), who was recognized for her play this season with a selection to the All-LEC Second Team, the first of her career with the Beacons.

Berrios was one of five players to be named to the All-LEC Second Team. In her first season with UMass Boston, she led the team in scoring and rebounding with 13.7 points per game (328 total points), and 200 total rebounds (8.3 RPG) in 24 games played (28.6 minutes per game). She finished the season with 10 total double-doubles with points and rebounds, including an eight game stretch where she average at least 14 points and 11 rebounds.

At the conference level, she ranked eighth in scoring with 13.7 PPG and 328 total points, fourth in rebounding with 200 total (8.3 RPG), and was top ten in the LEC in total blocks with 17 this season.

Berrios was the two-way anchor for the Beacons in 2024-25, as the team's top scorer and a ferocious presence in the paint. For only her sophomore season, Berrios is set to make some noise in her future as a Beacon.
