Box Score BOSTON, MA (November 12, 2025) – For the second straight game to open the 2025-26 campaign, the UMass Boston women's basketball team (2-0) earned a dominant victory, rolling past Mount Holyoke College (0-1) in their home opener, 64-31, on Wednesday evening.
After a slow start in the opening minutes, junior forward Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.) found her rhythm, scoring her fourth basket of the quarter to give the Beacons a nine-point edge heading into the second frame. UMass Boston extended its lead before halftime through aggressive play in the paint and consistent trips to the free throw line, taking an 18-point advantage — their largest of the game — into the break.
First-year guard Madison Haggett (Londonderry, N.H.) caught fire from beyond the arc in the third quarter, knocking down three triples as the Beacons kept their lead above 20 for the remainder of the contest.
The Beacons continued to pour it on in the fourth, holding Mount Holyoke to just five points in the final 10 minutes to close out a commanding 64-31 victory — their second consecutive win by 20 points or more.
Four Beacons finished in double figures, led by Berrios' 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting, along with a team-high eight rebounds, three steals, and one block. Haggett followed with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. Senior guard Tatiannah Fevry (Dracut, Mass.) continued her strong defensive form, matching her career high with five steals and adding 11 points. Sophomore forward Ashleigh Lagor (Millbury, Mass.) rounded out the balanced attack with 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals.
UMass Boston looks to make it three straight wins this Saturday, November 15, when they travel to Fort Kent, Maine, to face the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals.
