BOSTON, MA (September 17, 2024) – Following a five-game away stint, the Beacons' women's soccer team will return to its home turf of the James Cotter Field in Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00 pm against the Curry College Colonels.
Previously
- In four matchups with the Colonels, the Beacons are 2-1-1, with their most significant victory coming in 2018, where the Beacons won 5-0. Their last meeting in 2023 resulted in a 1-1 draw. Their first meeting came in September of 2017 when the Colonels took the first matchup 1-2.
This Season
- The Beacons have started 3-1-2 through their first six games, with wins coming over the United State Coast Guard Academy, Smith College, and Westfield State University. Their most recent matchup against the Roger Williams Hawks resulted in a 1-0 loss for the Beacons. The primary goal scorers for the Beacons come from junior midfielder Andrea Rivera (San Juan, P.R.) and first-year forward Kathryn Brown (Somers, Conn.), who have each found twine twice this season. First-year midfielder Lucinda Cotter (North Easton, Mass.) has also produced points this season, scoring against Wellesley College and providing assists against Smith and Westfield State. The Beacons have split duties between the pipes, with junior Julia Cote (Baldwinsville, Mass.), and senior Isabella O'Connell (Abington, Mass.) sharing the load. In four games played, Cote has registered 16 saves and a 2-0-1 record, O'Connell has also registered 16 saves and accrued a 1-1-1 record.
- The Colonels started this season 3-1-1, with wins against Salve Regina, Mass Maritime Academy, and Fitchburg State. Their only loss of the season came from the hands of fellow Little East Conference member, the Rhode Island College Anchormen, in a tight 2-1 finish. The Colonels' sophomore forward Mia Schena has been the main offensive contributor, tallying four goals and an assist in five games. Junior midfielder Jovi Goldstein has also found the back of the net more than once this season, tallying two goals in five starts. The primary goalkeeper for Curry College is senior Hannah Correa. In five starts, Correa has recorded nine saves for a .75 save percentage and a 2-1-1 record.
