BOSTON, MA (October 1, 2024) – The UMass Boston women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m from the James Cotter Field against the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in a Little East Conference matchup.

- The Beacons and the Corsairs have a history dating back to 1995, when the Corsairs took the first meeting 6-0. Since then, the Beacs have gone 14-13-4, with their last dual ending in a 1-1 stalemate from North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Their most significant win over the Corsairs came in 2011 when the Beacs took over 6-0. The last time UMass Dartmouth was victorious over UMass Boston was in 2016 when they shut out the Beacs 3-0.
This Season
- The Beacons are 6-1-3 (1-0 LEC) heading into the matchup, with wins over Smith (2-0), Curry College (3-2), Plymouth State (8-3, Husson (2-1), Westfield State (2-1), and the United States Coast Guard (1-0). The Beacons have won three of their last four games, remaining unbeaten through the recent stretch. Goals have come from various scorers for UMass Boston, with junior Andrea Rivera (San Juan, P.R.) leading the way with five goals, including a hat-trick against Plymouth State. Also providing an offensive spark, first-years Kathryn Brown (Somers, Conn.) and Sofia Schallmo (Norwood, Mass.), with Brown netting goals against four different opponents and Schallmo bursting into form with 15 points over her last four games through five goals and five assists. First-year midfielders Daniella Celatto (Prospect, Conn.) and Lucinda Cotter (North Easton, Mass.) have each provided their teammates with opportunities, as the two rookies follow Schallmo as the leading assist providers for UMass Boston with three apiece. The primary netminder for the Beacons has been junior Julia Cote (Baldwinville, Mass.), who has maintained an undefeated 4-0-2 record this season against 77 shots faced. She has recorded 37 saves and allowed eight goals for a solid .822 save percentage. Cote holds the third-best averages in the LEC for saves per game (5.29) and goals against average (1.303).
- The Corsairs are 3-4-2 (0-1 LEC) heading into the contest, with wins coming against Salem State (3-0), Mass Maritime (3-1), and Framingham State (2-0). The Corsairs have several offensive providers, with four athletes registering two goals and another three scoring once this season. First-years Lily Jaeger and Molly Sheehan each lead the way with season points, tallying two goals and an assist each for the rookie duo. The Corsairs split goalkeeping responsibilities between sophomore Grace Conti, and first-year Tori Russo. Conti has started in four appearances, faced 41 shots, and accrued 25 saves for a .781 save percentage and a 1-1-1 record. Russo started in five games, faced 55 shots, and accrued 32 saves for a .780 save percentage and a 0-3-1 record.
