HOW IT HAPPENED
Shooting woes early on in the contest would find the Beacons trailing 12-4 in the early going of the first quarter, but a 6-0 run by UMass Boston featuring two points from freshman guard

Keriann Farina, and junior forward
Alexah Potter helped them pull within two, 12-10, after the opening frame.
The Panthers would continue to hold their slight lead over the Beacons, going up by as many as five points in the second period as junior guard Laura Keller recorded four points in the opening minutes of the quarter. After a pair of Keller free throws to put her team ahead four, another 6-0 run to the tune of four free throws and a Jensen layup gave UMass Boston their first lead of the afternoon since the first minute, 19-17. Plymouth States' 4-0 run to close out the second would put them in front, 20-19, heading into the halftime locker room.
Playing from behind for the first half of the third, the Beacons went ahead for good with 3:32 remaining in the quarter after freshman guard
Tatiannah Fevry's layup put UMass Boston ahead 28-26. The Fevry layup would be the start of a 10-3 run for the Beacons which was led by five points from sophomore guard
Sunny Green down the stretch, putting UMass Boston ahead by seven, 36-29.
It would be all Beacons in the final quarter, as they would outscore Plymouth State 19-6 over the final 10 minutes, giving them a scoring margin for the second half of 36-15, leading them to a 20-point victory. The 13-point fourth quarter edge was led by Dixon who had 12 of her 16 points over the span of just over seven fourth quarter minutes.
BY THE NUMBERS
- In holding Plymouth State University to 35 points, it was the second fewest points allowed by UMass Boston this season in a game and fewest allowed to an LEC opponent since January 26th, 2002, against Rhode Island College on the road in a 59-34 victory
- Sunny Green turned in a solid game for the Beacons, registering seven points and recording six steals
- Tatiannah Fevry recorded a season and career-high in rebounds, grabbing 11 boards in the contest
- This is the 10th consecutive win for UMass Boston against Plymouth State dating back to the 2017-18 season
