Men's Indoor Track Competes at Beacon Invitational at New Balance

BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Boston Men's Indoor Track competed at the Beacon Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance on Saturday with graduate student Jimmy Cannon leading the way for the Beacons in the Men's 3,000 Meter Run, finishing 7th overall in a time of 8:48.24 in the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Freshman Rob Cannon placed 10 spots behind his older brother in the same event, finishing 17th overall in a time of 9:36:56 in his lone event of the day.

Jimmy Cannon also competed in the Men's Mile event, finishing with a time of 4:35.93 which was a new personal best for the graduate runner. Cannon finished 23rd overall, breaking his record set back in 2018 in which he finished with a time of 4:43.42 at the Springfield College Maroon & White Classic.

WHAT'S NEXT  
The Beacons will go on winter break before heading to New York on Friday, January 13th, 2023 for the MLK Collegiate Relays and then compete at the Reggie Payou Memorial Invitational at Reggie Lewis in Boston on Saturday.
