HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite facing one of the top defenses in Division III, the Beacons wasted little time taking control of Saturday's match-up.  Darragh Fahey (Walpole, Mass.) erupted for back-to-back goals in the first two minutes of the contest.  Andrew Gallagher (Milford, Mass.), Gavin Admirand (Marshfield, Mass.), and Conor Lenfest (Waltham, Mass.) each scored once to cap-off a five-goal flurry through the first four minutes 50 seconds.  Admirand then made it a 6-0 advantage in favor of UMB with just over five minutes to play in the opening quarter.

UMass Boston would continue to fire on all cylinders, as the scored at will in the second.  Five different players found the back of the net, with Fahey scoring the final three goals of the stanza.  Jeremy Girard (Hinsdale, Mass.) had two assists in the quarters, while Fahey also added one assist to head into the halftime break with six points (5g, 1a).

Maine Maritime ended the Beacons shutout bid in the third, while holding the Beacons attack scoreless for the second time in the last two games.  Evan Golembeske netted his team's first goal, while Zeke Tocci closed out the third to make it 13-2 in favor of the Beacons.

The fourth quarter was another eruption by the Beacons attack as they scored nine unanswered goals to clinch the victory.  Mic Flynn (Bellingham, Mass.) registered his first hat trick in a quarter.  Admirand led the attack with four goals, including a pair of man-up tallies.  Evan Gormley (Rockland, Mass.) netted the final goal of the contest off of a Luke Murphy assist.

Beacons netminders Trevor Koppy (Attleboro, Mass.) and Charlie Cook (Bedford, Mass.) combined for 12 saves, with Koppy picking-up his fourth win of the year.

Garrett Ruszkowski was handed his first loss.  He made 19 saves while facing a combined 41 shots on goal from the Beacons attack.

Face-off man Jack Dobrzynski (West Greenwich, R.I.) dominated at the "X" finished 21-for-23, while also tallying 11 ground balls.

Patrick Colburn (Walpole, Mass.) anchored the Beacons defense with three caused turnovers.
