KISSIMEE, Fla. – Facing perhaps their toughest competition this season, the men's and women's tennis teams were both handed a 9-0 loss by University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Wednesday afternoon at the Oak Street Park courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
On the women's side, UW-La Crosse jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead through doubles play as they registered a pair of 8-1 wins before taking an 8-2 victory at the third flight.
In singles competition, Kelsey Shea (West Bridgewater, Mass.) played a strong match at fifth flight. Her UW-La Crosse opponent Alaina Bublitz earned the victory by the final of 6-1, 7-5. Despite the loss, Meghan Erickson (Hubbardston, Mass.) also had a good match as she fell 6-4, 6-0 to Maura Anderson.
In the men's match, the duo of Austin DeLasse (Mexico City, Mexico) and Josh Bhasin (Tulsa, Okla.) had the best showing in doubles play despite dropping an 8-3 decision to Matt Riley and Matt Linddsay.
In singles play, DeLasse was the only Beacon to register a point in both sets, as he fell 6-1, 6-3 against Austin Stefanich at first flight.
