PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 30, 2025) – Following an exceptional run in the 2025 Little East Conference women's tennis season, the UMass Boston women's tennis team earned six All-Conference honors across four standout athletes — headlined by junior Zainab Patel (Ahmedabad, India), who captured her second consecutive LEC Singles Player of the Year award and a spot on the All-LEC First Team Singles list.
Patel earns the honor after posting a dominant 12-1 overall record, including an undefeated 8-0 mark in conference play at No. 1 singles. She closed the season on an 11-match win streak that helped lift the Beacons to their fourth consecutive LEC Tournament Championship appearance.
Joining Patel on the All-LEC First Team list are Tatiana Malone (South Dennis, Mass.) and Althea Bradley (North Reading, Mass.), who earned their first career All-LEC selections as a doubles team. The duo went 7-2 at No. 2 doubles this season and proved to be a reliable anchor in the Beacons' lineup.
Malone and Bradley were also recognized for their individual efforts, each earning spots on the All-LEC Second Team Singles. Malone finished the year with a 9-5 overall record (5-2 LEC), going 2-1 at No. 2 singles and 7-4 at No. 3. Bradley compiled a 9-4 overall record (6-1 LEC), going 1-1 at No. 3 singles and 8-3 at No. 4, while winning eight of her final ten matches of the season.
Rounding out the postseason honors, senior Maya Rubinstein (Pittsburgh, Penn.) was named to the LEC Sportsmanship Team for her strong debut season and leadership both on and off the court.
Patel adds to her growing collection of LEC hardware, while Malone, Bradley, and Rubinstein cap off breakout seasons with their first career postseason honors — putting a ribbon on a memorable 2025 UMass Boston women's tennis campaign.
