Box Score BEVERLY, Mass.—UMass Boston women's soccer (6-3-4) and regionally-ranked Endicott College (7-3-4) went back-and-forth for 110 physical minutes, but neither side managed to find the back of the net in a 0-0 double overtime tie Tuesday evening at Endicott Stadium.
Despite a combined 29 shots and eight shots on goal, neither side could claim the upper-hand in the all-time series, with the two teams now tied at 2-2-1 in the all-time series.
Senior goalie Dani Perkins (Murrieta, Calif.) made four saves in regulation to earn her third shutout of the season.
Perkins was helped out by her back line of Elisa Brooks (San Diego, Calif.), Brittany Castillo (Yarmouth, Mass.), Hannah Petersen (Plymouth, Mass.) and Sam Bendick (New Egypt, N.J.). The back four combined to allow just four shots on goal and just three combined shots in the two extra sessions.
Endicott senior goalie Katie Donnelly made four stops as well, with three of her four saves coming in overtime.
While Endicott held a 16-13 edge in total shots, UMass Boston held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Perkins was tested immediately, as the senior goalie was forced to stop Leeann Card's point-blank shot just 16 seconds into the contest. The senior would add a second stop just inside three minutes, before facing much pressure the rest of the way.
After attempting just one shot on goal in the first 90 minutes, UMass Boston created several chances in the final 20. Senior Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) used her speed to get around the Gulls' full backs on several occasions but her teammates just missed on finishing several crosses into the box in overtime.
The Beacons will return home Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. for their "Think Pink" game against Keene State College. UMass Boston will honor former All-Conference player and former assistant coach Katherine Wall ('08) who is battling breast cancer for the third time. Beacons fans can purchase tickets at the game or at the Harp & Bard, the official sponsor of UMass Boston women's soccer, for a special postgame event, with all proceeds going to the Katherine Wall Fund.
