Mansfield, Conn. (April 25, 2026) -- The UMass Boston track and field team concluded its 2026 outdoor campaign at the Little East Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with both squads combining for 119 points. The women scored 72 points across 12 events while the men scored 47 points across 11 events, putting a bow on a successful season under head coach Ozzie Brown in his second year at the helm.

Women's Team Highlights:

• Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) won gold in four events, accounting for 40 of the Beacons' 119 total points. She took first place in the 100m hurdles (13.77), 100m dash (12.01), 200m dash (25.00), and long jump (5.76m).
• Shea Roche (Weymouth, Mass.) earned silver in two events, finishing in 4:52.10 in the 1500m and 18:15.21 in the 5000m for eight combined points.
• Jacqueline Earner (Abington, Mass.) took third place in the 800m with a 2:21.43 finish, earning six points.
• The Beacons' throwing unit placed two finishers in the top eight across two events, with Katie Tuohy (Groton, Conn.) taking seventh in the javelin with a 29.97m throw and Agnessa Lysenko (Boston, Mass.) taking eighth in the hammer throw with a 41.17m throw.

Men's Team Highlights:

• The 4x100m relay team of Justin Riley (Weymouth, Mass.), Liam Feliz Montilla (Boston, Mass.), Alex Martins (Malden, Mass.), and Melvin Wiltshire (Boston, Mass.) took fifth out of nine teams in 42.66.
• The Beacons earned eight points in the 110m hurdles, with Riley taking third in a career-best, UMass Boston program-record 15.23, followed by Nahim Laguerre (Malden, Mass.) in seventh in 16.02.
• Elaijah Monteiro (New Bedford, Mass.) took eighth in the 400m dash in 51.67 for one point.
• First-year Kurt Deitrich took eighth in the 400m hurdles in 58.05 for one point.
• The Beacons scored six points in the 200m dash, with Feliz Montilla taking fifth in 22.50 for four points and Riley taking eighth in 22.68 for two additional points.
• The 4x800m relay team of Micah Groff (Beverly, Mass.), Vincent Caruso (Scarborough, Me.), Sky Roberts-Clarke (Boston, Mass.), and Noah Gendebien (Lisbon, N.Y.) took fifth out of nine teams in 8:26.28 for four points.
• The 4x400m relay team of Riley, Wiltshire, Omar Mishal (Peabody, Mass.), and Monteiro took fourth out of seven teams in 3:26.23 for five points.
• The Beacons' throwing unit combined for 17 points, with Olutemi Alofe (Roslindale, Mass.) taking fourth in the shot put with a 14.30m throw for five points. Areno Saint-Victor Fabian (Peabody, Mass.) placed sixth in the shot put with a 14.06m throw for three points, then took fourth in the discus with a 45.22m throw for five additional points, totaling eight points on the day. Emmanuel Guzman (Boston, Mass.) took fifth in the javelin with a 48.01m throw for four points.
• Feliz Montilla rounded out his day with a seventh-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.87m for two additional points.

For select qualifiers, the season continues next week at Springfield College for the New England Division III Regional Championships, beginning Friday, May 1, and concluding Saturday, May 2. For the remainder of the roster, the 2026 LEC Championships mark the close of their outdoor campaign.
