NEW ORLEANS, LA -- The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its Regional Awards for the 2025-26 indoor track and field season, naming UMass Boston sprinter and hurdler Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) the Northeast Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year, leading a group of four other Beacons who were named to All-Region teams. The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Garceau closed out an outstanding season with a record-breaking performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships, crossing the line in 8.25 to set a new NCAA DIII mark, surpassing her own previous record of 8.31 set at the New England DIII Indoor Championships, where she also took the 200 meters for her fifth consecutive All-American honors. Earlier in the season, she tallied 30 points at the Little East Conference Indoor Championships, sweeping the 60 meters, 200 meters, and 60-meter hurdles. She also finished the indoor season in the top eight in four different events, earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 60m dash, 60m hurdles, 200m dash, and long jump.
Joining Garceau among the top performers in the region were the UMass Boston men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of junior Justin Riley (Weymouth, Mass.), senior Melvin Wilthire (Boston, Mass.), sophomore Elaijah Monteiro (New Bedford, Mass.), and first-year Omar Mishal (Peabody, Mass.); the first-year high jump duo of Alex Huynh and Liam Feliz Montilla (Boston, Mass.); and first-year school-record holder in the men's weight throw, Areno Saint-Victor  (Peabody, Mass.).
The 4x400m relay team finished the indoor season with the fifth-ranked relay time in the Northeast region, clocking a 3:22.05 at the NEDIII Indoor Championships.
In the men's high jump, Feliz Montilla ranked fourth in the region with a 2.01m clearance at the NEICAAA All-New England Championships, while Huynh finished tied for seventh after clearing 1.98m at the Harvard Invitational. Saint-Victor secured his All-Region finish early in the season with a record-breaking 16.36m throw at the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invitational, which ranked him eighth in the region at the conclusion of the indoor season.
The Beacons will open their outdoor campaign on March 28 at the UMass Amherst Flagship Opener, held on the campus of UMass Amherst in Amherst, Mass., beginning at 10:00 AM.
