Garceau Named USTFCCCA Co-National Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. (March 2, 2026) – Following a historic performance at the 2026 New England Division III Championships, UMass Boston senior Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) was named the Co-National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon. Garceau, the reigning Indoor 60m Hurdles champion, becomes just the second Beacon in program history to receive the honor.

The recognition comes on the heels of a standout Sunday at the D3NE Championships, where Garceau captured two individual titles while breaking two records in the process.

In the 60m hurdles, Garceau claimed gold in 8.31 seconds, breaking her own UMass Boston program record and setting a new NCAA Division III National Record. The performance solidifies her place in the history books as the Division III record holder in both the indoor 60m hurdles (8.31) and the outdoor 100m hurdles (13.54).

Garceau wasn't finished there. She also delivered the fastest women's 200m dash in D3NE Championships history, crossing the finish line in 24.32 seconds to claim her second individual title of the day.

With two national records and a pair of championship titles in hand, Garceau turns her attention to the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletics Association (NEICAAA) All-New England Championships, set for March 6-7 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
