PROVIDENCE, R.I. (September 8, 2025) – For the first time this season, junior Zainab Patel (Ahmedabad, India) has been named Little East Conference Co-Player of the Week following an outstanding performance in the Beacons' 2025 season opener against Suffolk.

Patel claimed a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles and teamed with Althea Bradley (North Reading, Mass.)  to secure a 6-3 win at second doubles, helping UMass Boston open the 2025-26 campaign with a 7-0 non-conference sweep.

Patel and the Beacons women's tennis team return to action on Thursday, September 11, traveling to Dudley, Mass. to face Nichols College at 1:00 p.m.
