UMass Boston Hosts Annual Beacon Club Golf Classic to Support Athletics

PLYMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Boston Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted its Annual Beacon Club Golf Classic on Monday morning at the Waverley Oaks Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

More than 124 golfers hit the course in support of Beacon athletics, raising funds while enjoying a day of friendly competition and camaraderie. Participants vied for prizes, and bragging rights, in a variety of on-course contests, including Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.

The day began with check-in and breakfast before the golfers set off for a beautiful afternoon of play. After completing the 18-hole course, attendees gathered indoors for cocktails and a lunch buffet, where the day's winners were announced and celebrated.

"We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding support from our alumni, donors, and friends of Beacon Athletics," said Scott Netkovick, Deputy Athletic Director for Strategic Advancement. "This event not only raises vital funds for our programs, but also brings our community together for a great day of competition and Beacon Pride."

The UMass Boston Athletics Department extends its sincere thanks to all participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 2025 Beacon Club Golf Classic a success.
