GREENWOOD, Ind. (June 3, 2025) – UMass Boston softball continues to shine both on and off the field, as five student-athletes have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Representing the Beacons are Bri Melchionda (Marshfield, Mass.), Jacqueline Cherry (Franklin, Mass.), Hayley Krockta (Taunton, Mass.), Ella Delisle (Amesbury, Mass.), and Lauren Miner (Millbury, Mass.).

These five were among more than 1,000 student-athletes nationwide honored for their outstanding performance in the classroom and on the field.

The CSC Academic All-District® Softball Teams recognize the top student-athletes in the nation across four divisions—NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. To qualify, nominees must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and participate in at least 80% of their team's games or start in at least 66% of them. Melchionda also advanced as a finalist for CSC Academic All-America® honors, with first-, second-, and third-team selections set to be announced on June 17, 2025. Already the first Beacon to be named an NFCA All-American, she could become the first in program history to earn All-America recognition both athletically and academically.
