PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 8, 2025) – The Little East Conference announced its 2025 men's tennis postseason awards on Wednesday, recognizing three members of the UMass Boston squad for their standout performances, including freshman Dominik Dwyer (Dedham, Mass.), who was named the LEC Rookie of the Year.
Dwyer capped off a strong debut season with an 8-5 overall singles record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play. In addition to his Rookie of the Year honor, he also earned All-LEC First Team recognition in both singles and doubles.
Joining him on the All-LEC First Team Singles list is teammate and doubles partner Victor Xu (Bolton, Mass.). Xu posted an 8-3 record in singles, including 4-2 in LEC matches. Together, Dwyer and Xu formed one of the conference's top doubles pairings, earning First Team Doubles recognition with a 4-2 record in LEC doubles play.
Rounding out UMass Boston's postseason honors is sophomore Joseph Malone (Dennis, Mass.), who was named to the All-LEC Sportsmanship Team, an honor awarded to student-athletes who display outstanding character and integrity throughout the season.
The Beacons conclude the spring with three postseason awards, capping a successful campaign with plenty of promise heading into next year.
