BOSTON, MA (March 8, 2025)— The Beacons' junior hurdler
Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) represented the UMass Boston track and field team at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) All-New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, as she took to her primary event for a final push before heading to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend (Mar. 14-15).
In the preliminary rounds of the 60m hurdles, Garceau easily coasted to a new personal-best of 8.55s to shatter her own previous school record set earlier this season at the Yankee Small College Invitational. Her fourth personal record this season and fourth broken school record, as Garceau has continued to skyrocket in her progression. She has dropped 0.29 seconds since her season opening 8.84s finish at the Beacons' Season Opener, a massive improvement over 60 meters.
Following her finish in preliminaries, Garceau was seeded first into finals, where she ultimately finished seventh.
With Garceau's season-long string of sub-nine-second finishes in the 60m hurdles, she has ranked first in the event in NCAA DIII for nearly two months. With the top-20 nationally qualifying to compete at the 2025 Indoor Championships in Rochester, N.Y., Garceau has the bar set high with the field chasing her as she heads into next week ranked second nationally with her 8.55s finish in the hurdles at the All-New England Championships.
Stay tuned for coverage of Garceau's performances at Rochester next weekend as Garceau takes to the national stage for the second time in her career, while qualifying for the Indoor National Championships for the first time. Further information on next week's championship will follow soon.
