PROVIDENCE, R.I. (March 10, 2026) – Following the completion of the Little East Conference Tournament, the conference office announced the first-ever All-LEC Men's Ice Hockey Teams on Tuesday. UMass Boston men's ice hockey placed two players on the postseason lists, as senior Jude Kurtas (Hillsborough, N.J.) was named to the All-LEC Second Team and freshman Alex Koenig (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) was named to the All-LEC Rookie Team.
Kurtas earned Second Team honors after leading the Beacons in total offensive production during his senior campaign. The forward closed out his final season with a team-high 15 goals and team-high 20 assists for a career-best 35 points in 27 games played. He finishes his UMass Boston career with 28 goals and 51 assists for 79 points.
Koenig earned a spot on the All-LEC Rookie Team after posting standout numbers in his first season between the pipes for the Beacons. The freshman netminder ranked in the top three in the conference in both goals-against average (2.48) and save percentage (.923), recording 385 saves across 14 appearances — an average of 27.5 saves per game — with one shutout on the season.
UMass Boston concludes its inaugural Little East Conference season with a 15-10-2 (9-7-2 LEC) record, and a program to be proud of. The Beacons earned a berth in the first-ever LEC Tournament and placed two players on the conference's inaugural postseason teams. With a talented core returning and the program's foundation firmly in place, the Beacons look ahead to building on a historic first year in the conference.
