BOSTON, Mass. (Feb. 21, 2026) — Backed by a four-goal performance from Jazz Krivtsov (Santa Clarita, Calif.), the UMass Boston men's ice hockey team (14-9-2, 9-7-2 LEC) defeated the Western Connecticut State University Wolves (2-23-0, 1-17-0 LEC) 7–4 on Saturday at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink in the season finale. The Beacons honored their five seniors before puck drop.
In the opening minutes of the first period, Krivtsov tallied the opening goal off his own rebound for the Beacons. At 9:01, Jude Kurtas (Hillsborough, N.J.) pushed UMassBoston's advantage to 2–0 off assists from Krivtsov and Tyler Drummond (Baldwin, N.Y.).
In the early goings of the second period, Drew Coady cut the deficit to 2–1 on the power play with assists from Luca Maiuri and Jordan Blais, but Krivtsov responded on the man advantage at 7:18 off Drummond's assist, putting UMass Boston up 3–1.
Less than two minutes later, Tyler Gobel brought WestConn to within one off assists from Scott McNulty and Victor-Antoine Fortier, but Michael Lynch (Stoneham, Mass.) pushed the lead to 4–2 off assists from Jake Lindstrom (Denver, Colo.) and Chris Repmann (Middletown, N.J.).
Krivtsov buried his third goal of the game at 11:55 off assists from Jack Mortson (Detroit, Mich.) and Kurtas, extending the lead to 5–2. Kurtas added on to the lead with an unassisted power play goal at 16:37. Fortier cut the Wolves' deficit to 6–3 at 18:28.
The first 14 minutes of the third period were scoreless, as both teams tightened the defensive pressure. Krivtsov buried his fourth goal of the contest at 14:11, extending the lead to 7–3, but Erik Danilchev responded at 15:05. The Wolves generated scoring chances down the stretch, but were turned aside by Alex Koenig (Manhattan, Calif.), securing the win for the Beacons.
Krivtsov led all skaters with five points (four goals, one assist). Koenig stood strong between the pipes, stopping 38 shots from the Wolves.

The Beacons will travel to Gorham, Maine, to face the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the Little East Conference quarterfinals.
