BOSTON, MA (January 2025) – Following their 2024 Little East Conference regular season championship, the Beacons' baseball team is gearing up for another spring at Monan Park as head Coach Brendan Eygabroat announced their upcoming schedule and opponents for the incoming season, his 21st as head coach for UMass Boston.
Coach Eygabroat detailed the incoming schedule, adding,
"We have a very strong non-conference slate as usual. I love competing against the other top regional teams. We have 15 games against teams that made the NCAA tourney last year. I think playing a top schedule really benefits the team come post season. In our New England non-conference slate, we are looking forward to playing Endicott , Salve Regina, Babson, and Mitchell. All those teams made the NCAA tournament last year, and should be a great test for the Beacons. We did a great job protecting our home field last year, going 18-4 at Monan Park, so I hope we continue to make it a very difficult place for opponents to play."
Cumulatively, the Beacons will play 20 of their 40 games at Monan Park. The following is a full breakdown of key dates and the opponents they feature.
February 26: Season Opener
- The Beacons will begin their 2025 campaign at Monan Park on Wednesday, February 26 at 2:00 p.m against the Pilgrims of New England College.
March 13-19: Spring Break
- The Beacons will head south for warmer weather for Spring Break. "We are heading back to Florida this year to compete in the RussMatt Tournament. We have a very strong schedule that will certainly test us early in the year. The trip will really help us learn a lot about the team, and help us figure out our lineups and rotations on the mound before LEC play. We will match up against multiple Top 25 teams on the trip, which will be a great opportunity for the squad. The trip is always a blast for the players and an additional chance to bond and come together.". The Beacons will settle down for a week in Orlando, FL, where they are slated for six neutral site contests, beginning against Wheaton College (MA) on March 13, #21 Rowan University on the 14th, Rutgers-Camden on the 16th, Salem State on the 17th, the University of Scranton on March 19th, and will conclude on March 20th against #6 John's Hopkins.
March 22: Conference Opener
- The Beacons will host the Spartans of Vermont State University Castleton on Saturday, March 22, for the Little East Conference regular season-opening doubleheader from Monan Park. The first pitch for game one is at 12:00 p.m., followed by game two at 3:00 p.m.
LEC Tournament:
- The 2025 LEC Championship Tournament will run from May 7 – May 10 at a venue determined by the winners of the LEC Regular Season.
Stay tuned for the season preview that recaps what to expect as the Beacons head into the 2025 campaign.
