Auburndale, FL – The UMass Boston Baseball team (4-5) scored 5 runs on 12 hits against the Lions of Bethel University (MN) (4-2) but came up short, 8-5, in a back-and-forth matchup.

After Bethel scored 1 in the top of the first, the Beacons answered in the next half-inning, putting up 3 runs on 3 hits.

Bethel scored 3 in the top of the 3rd on 1 hit. The Beacons answered again with an RBI double from freshman
Dylan Agvent and an RBI single from senior
Nick Farnacci.
In the bottom of the 4th, senior
Breon Parker Jr. laid a perfect bunt down the 3rd base line to record his 100th career hit!
After a few innings of quality pitching on both sides, the Lions of Bethel took the lead back in the top of the 6th, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits. They would tack on another in the top of the 9th on 1 hit to push their lead to 8-5.
After a valiant effort that saw the Beacons load the bases in the bottom of the ninth, they came up just short and fall to 4-5.
