Auburndale, FL – The UMass Boston Baseball team (5–6) scored 11 runs on 17 hits against the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent (1–8) to come out on top, 11–7 in the Beacons Florida Spring Break finale, closing out the trip 3-4.
Highlights
Ethan Nowak (Hapton Falls, NH) started on the mound and got the win for the Beacons , dealing for four innings while allowing just one run and striking out four.
The Beacons' offense had a big inning in the top of the third, scoring four runs on five hits.
Ben Sherry (Fall River, Mass.), Ryan Slack (Derby, Conn.), Chase Beloin (Avon, Conn.), and Cole Bissaillon (Great Barrington, Mass.) each tallied RBIs. The Beacons continued to apply pressure in the fourth, tacking on another pair of runs, both knocked in by Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.).
The Dolphins showed fight, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th and 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th, but the Beacons had the better day offensively, tacking on a few more runs late and coming away with the win.
