Auburndale, FL — The UMass Boston Baseball team (4–6) scored 4 runs on 7 hits against the Profs of Rowan University (7–2) but fell just short, 6–4.
Highlights
Robert Wunsch started on the mound for the Beacons. He went 4.2 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits and striking out 5.
On the offensive side, the Beacons took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd on an RBI single from freshman Chase Beloin, who had his first collegiate start. Breon Parker also singled to knock in 2. They tacked on one more in the bottom of the 4th from a Dylan Agvent RBI single.
Rowan tied it up in the top of the 7th, scoring 4 runs on 2 hits. They added another 2 runs in the top of the 9th on 2 hits.
The Beacons had a great offensive approach early but ran into strong pitching and were left hitless after the 4th inning. They were just edged out by #13 Rowan.
