BOSTON, Mass. - A shutout for the record books on Saturday night earned UMass Boston Men's Ice Hockey goaltender Sam Best Goalie of the Week honors from the New England Hockey Conference, the league announced on Monday.

With a weekend sweep on the line, Best and the Beacons earned their first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent this season. Eleventh-ranked Norwich University came out firing, but were met with a goalkeeping masterclass from Best. The graduate goalie saved all 33 shots he faced to secure the 1-0 victory, his program-record seventh career shutout.

The Beacons will gear up for another set of tests this weekend. On Friday they travel to face the high-powered Beavers of Babson College for a 7 PM puck drop.
