BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Boston Men's Cross Country was back at it on Saturday afternoon for the 54
th Annual Codfish Meet in Franklin Park. Graduate student
Jimmy Cannon, 2021 winner of the Codfish Meet, led the Beacons, finishing 9
th overall in 26:55:50.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In his 2021 Codfish victory, Cannon completed the 8K event in 26:34, 21 seconds faster than his time this year. The field as a whole proved to be quicker in this year's edition as the winner Cameron Leonard from Northeastern Club Running finished in first place with a time of 25:09:30.
After his collegiate debut last weekend,
Rob Cannon, followed up his 28:34:10 finish in the UMD Invitational with a new personal best as the younger Cannon finished in 28:08:30, good for 33
rd overall.
Sophomore
Zeph Alvarado placed 86
th overall to round out three Beacons finishing within the top 100, with a time of 30:52:00.
Junior
Christopher Druding, finished fourth for UMass Boston for a second consecutive week with a time of 32:32:00 to finish 117
th overall.
Freshman
Melvin Wiltshire made his collegiate debut at the Codfish Bowl Meet, finishing 121
st with a time of 32:43:80.
As a team, the Beacons finished ninth overall with 233 points.

The Beacons travel to Keene State next Saturday for the Keene State College Invitational slated to start at 10:00 AM.
