BOSTON, MA (November 15, 2024) – Hot off of multiple career performances at the Little East Conference Championships at UMass Dartmouth, the Beacons' cross-country team will send six of their best to compete at the NCAA East Regional Championships at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, on Saturday, November 16
th, hosted by Suffolk University.
The top two competitors from the entire season on the women's team will push each other one final time in the 2024 XC season. Junior
Shea Roche (Weymouth, Mass.) and
Grace Colon (West Roxbury, Mass.) have guided the way for the UMass Boston pack this season, and each of them enter Saturday off career performances at the LEC Championships. Colon set a new personal record of 19:42.90 for 15
th at LECs, and Roche earned second team All-Conference for an 11
th place 19:26.80 finish for another personal-record.
The men's team will bring will bring four runners, junior Robert Cannon (Quincy, Mass.), sophomore Skye Roberts Clarke, first-year
Yariel Cordero Sanchez (Puerto Rico), and senior Sebestian BienAime (Brockton, Mass.) will each lace up for regional championship reps. Cannon has consistently led the pack for the Beacons' men's team, and is coming off a personal-record of 26:55.7 from the LEC Championships. Cordero Sanchez has also crept into the competitive fold, as a consistent second place finisher for UMass Boston. He is also coming off a personal record of 29:26.4 at the LEC Championships.
