BOSTON, Mass. -- Graduate student Jimmy Cannon was named Runner of the Week, freshman Rob Cannon was named Rookie of the Week for the fifth straight week for Men's Cross Country, and freshman Jacqueline Earner earned both Runner of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the first time in her collegiate career as announced by the Little East Conference league office on Monday afternoon.

Men's Cross Country: Jimmy Cannon - Runner of the Week

Graduate student Jimmy Cannon continued his strong fifth season with the Beacons, leading the way for the Beacons at the Rothenberg Cross Country Run last Friday afternoon, in which UMass Boston placed third out of the trio of teams attending the 5K event. Cannon crossed the finish line 9th overall with a time of 15:47:90, just 32 seconds behind race winner Evan Sherman from Brown University.

Men's Cross Country: Rob Cannon - Rookie of the Week

Freshman Rob Cannon closed out his first regular season with UMass Boston, finishing 26^th overall in 16:56:80 for the Beacons at the Rothenberg Cross-Country Run Invitational. The 5K event saw Cannon compete against Division I schools Brown University and University of Rhode Island in Attleboro, Massachusetts.  

Women's Cross Country: Jacqueline Earner - Runner/Rookie of the Week

Freshman Jacqueline Earner earned her first two Little East Conference weekly awards after competing at the Rothenberg Cross Country run last Friday for UMass Boston. Earner was the first Beacon to cross the finish line in the 3K event with a time of 13:13:70 and a 32nd overall finish.
