HOW IT HAPPENED

After falling behind 1-0 in the second minute, Wentworth scored back-to-back goals in the ninth and 31st minute to hand UMass Boston their sixth-consecutive non-conference loss.

Freshman Julia Masionis (Milford, Mass.) gave the Beacons an early 1-0 advantage just 108 seconds in, when she scored her second-collegiate goal. Masionis attempted a shot inside the box that was blocked. She picked up her rebound and fired it towards the net, where it deflected off freshman Micaela Robinson and into the net.

Freshman goalie Alyssa Fugiel (Easthampton, Mass.) posted nine saves on 11 shots in the loss. Her nine saves were tied for the second-most saves she's made this season.

Wentworth earned their fourth-straight victory thanks to goals from Amanda Weinberger and Mykaela Scarpace.

Wentworth responded seven and a half minutes after Masionis' tally, as sophomore Ali Leach (Stowe, Vt.) located junior Weinberger for the equalizer at 8:15. Weinberger directed Leach's cross from outside the box into the top right corner of the Beacons' net to even the score at 1-1.

The Leopards eagerly attempted to net their second goal with shots by Weinberger, junior Mary Annon (Concord, N.H.) and classmate Mary Pastorelli (Whitesboro, N.Y.), but none of the tries landed in the UMass Boston net. Wentworth would push ahead for good at 30:56 as Pastorelli located Scarpace, who deposited her teammate's corner kick cross into the right side of the net to push the hosts ahead, 2-1.

Micaela Robinson and Christie Fleming combined to make one saves and allowed the Beacons' lone goal.
