Box Score BOSTON, Mass.--Senior Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) scored twice to help UMass Boston women's soccer (10-4-5, 6-1 Little East) earn a share of their third-consecutive Little East Conference Regular Season Title Saturday, with a 3-2 victory over Rhode Island College (2-14-1, 0-6-1 Little East) at the RIC Soccer Field.
With the victory, UMass Boston wrapped up the second-seed in next week's Little East Conference Tournament, due to their loss to co-Little East Conference Regular Season Champion Western Connecticut State University (6-1). As the second-seed, UMass Boston will host the winner of Tuesday's LEC Quarterfinal matchup between third-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University and sixth-seeded Plymouth State University. The Beacons defeated both teams this season at the Clark Athletic Center Field, by scores of 4-1 and 5-0.
Rhode Island College wraps up their season with a 2-14-1 mark and a winless conference campaign.
Ledin wrapped up the most-successful Little East regular-season campaign of her career, with her 20th and 21st goals of the year. In seven conference contests, Ledin finished with a career-best 29 points, with 13 goals and three assists.
Fellow senior Ericka Garufi (Milton, Mass.) added her eighth goal of the season, while seniors Amanda Pugliese (Pembroke, Mass.), Brittany Castillo (Yarmouth, Mass.) and Cindy Cortés (Medellin, Colombia) all picked up assists. Cortés' assist was her first career point as a Beacon.
In net, Dani Perkins (Murrieta, Calif.) made seven stops on nine shots, to improve to 9-1-3 on the year.

Gabrielle Turner and Harmony Tillison scored for the Anchorwomen who finished the season on a six-game winless slide (0-5-1).
Audrey Maia and Justina Thoma split the two halves in net for the Anchorwomen, with the pair combining for 12 saves on 15 shots on goal.
UMass Boston earned a 31-18 advantage in shots and a 15-9 advantage in shots on goals. The Beacons also carrried a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
The Beacons jumped out to an early lead in the 25th minute when Castillo won a challenge at midfield and fed Pugliese at the top of the 18-yard box. Pugliese slid the ball to the right side to Ledin who then beat Maia to the far post for her 20th of the year.
The Anchorwomen knotted the game at 1-1 in the 42nd minute when freshman midfielder Brooke Morris (Lincoln, RI) intercepted a clearing pass about 35 yards out from the UMB net on the near sideline. Morris then found Turner who made a nice move to her left to beat Perkins for her team-leading 12th of the season.
The rain, which had been steady in the first half, picked up in the second stanza, but UMass Boston jumped ahead, 2-1, in the 55th minute. The Beacons began a scoring chance from the near sideline, but Thoma, who had come on to start the second half, read the play and punched the ball out of harm's way. Cortés corralled the loose ball at the top right of the 18-yard box and sent a pass to Garufi for a header that found the back of the net. It was Garufi's eighth of the season.
Garufi then help set up the game-winner in the 64th minute by taking possession of the ball in her own zone and lofting a ball out over the top to a streaking Ledin. Ledin outraced the RIC defense, settled the ball and broke in on Thoma. She tapped the ball past Thoma, off the far post and into the net for her 21st of the year.
The Anchorwomen pulled within one goal, 3-2, in the 87th minute when Angela Ragosta found Tillison at the top of the box. Tillison muscled her way past the defense and pushed across her first of the year.
The Beacons kept RIC off the scoreboard over the final 3:15 to come away with the victory. The visitors held a 31-18 advantage in shots and a 7-1 margin in corner kicks.
