BOSTON, Mass. (Aug. 5, 2026) — United Soccer Coaches released its preseason college rankings for NCAA Division III men's and women's soccer on Tuesday, and the UMass Boston Beacons return to the poll following a successful 2025 season, checking in at No. 23 — matching their spot in the final poll a year ago.
In 2025, the Beacons were crowned Little East Conference Tournament Champions with a 2-1 win on the road over Western Connecticut State University. With the win, UMass Boston earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where the Beacons defeated Roger Williams University, 4-1, before falling to regional host Bowdoin College, 2-1, in a thriller. UMass Boston finished the 2025 season with a 13-4-4 overall record and a 5-1-2 mark in LEC play. The Beacons led the conference in scoring average (2.42) and opponents' scoring average (0.95), while also posting the most goals (25) and the highest save percentage (.802) among LEC affiliates.
UMass Boston opens the 2026 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. against Salve Regina in Newport, R.I. The Beacons' home opener follows on Friday, Sept. 11, with the LEC home opener currently slated for Saturday, Sept. 26, against Keene State.
