Baseball Names Four to All-Conference Honors

PROVIDENCE, RI. (May 13, 2026) -- Following the conclusion of the 2026 Little East Conference baseball season, four members of the Beacons' program have been selected for postseason all-conference honors.

UMass Boston's haul includes three All-LEC First Team selections and one All-LEC Second Team selection.

Elliot Miles (Portsmouth, NH) – All-LEC First Team (Shortstop)

Miles was nothing short of sensational in 2026, establishing himself as one of the premier offensive weapons in the Little East Conference. The shortstop slashed .409 (AVG) /.507 (OB%) /.742 (SLG%) across 42 games, collecting 65 hits, 12 home runs, and 56 RBI while drawing five intentional walks — a testament to the respect opposing pitchers showed him all season. Miles was equally dangerous on the bases, swiping a program-record 35 bags in 38 attempts, and finished with a team-high 57 runs scored. He handled 224 total chances at shortstop, recording 134 assists on the season.

Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.) – All-LEC First Team (DH)

Gaer emerged as one of the most reliable run-producers in the lineup in his second season with the Beacons. Gaer batted .357 with 56 hits, 14 doubles, two home runs, and a team-high-tying 52 RBI across all 42 games. His ability to put the ball in play consistently was evident in his near-zero strikeout rate relative to his at-bats, and his .432 on-base percentage made him a constant presence on the basepaths. Gaer also posted a .988 fielding percentage in his defensive appearances, committing just two errors on the season.

Cameron Fisher (Canton, Conn.) -  All-LEC First Team (Starting Pitcher)

Fisher was the anchor of the UMass Boston rotation in 2026, turning in one of the most dominant individual pitching performances in the Little East. In 10 starts covering 65.0 innings, Fisher posted a 6-1 record and a 2.63 ERA, allowing just 51 hits while striking out 62 batters against only 12 walks. His opponents hit just .213 against him on the season. Fisher's command and durability were on full display throughout the year, earning him the recognition as one of the conference's best arms.

Ryan Slack (Derby, Conn.) – All-LEC Second Team (Third Base)

Slack was a steady and dependable presence at third base for the Beacons throughout the 2026 campaign. The infielder batted .291 with 34 hits, seven doubles, one home run, and 23 RBI in 35 starts. Slack brought a professional approach at the plate, working a .365 on-base percentage, and recorded 95 total chances in the field across the season.
