AUSTIN, TX (April 3, 2026) — UMass Boston senior Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Texas Relays on Friday, running 13.38 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles to set a new UMass Boston school record, claim the No. 2 spot on the NCAA Division III all-time all-conditions leaderboard, and move to No. 1 in the nation this season in the event.
Competing in heat four against a field of 37 NCAA Division I athletes, Garceau finished 11th overall — a result that speaks to her ability to compete at the highest levels of collegiate track and field regardless of division. She stood just 0.06 seconds off the all-time DIII all-conditions record of 13.32.
A wind reading of +3.4 m/s — above the legal limit of +2.0 m/s — means the 13.38 will not be submitted for the official NCAA record books. It does, however, replace her previous mark of 13.53 in the UMass Boston record books as the program's all-conditions best. That previous mark of 13.53 remains the fastest wind-legal time in NCAA Division III history.
Garceau now holds both the UMass Boston school record (13.38, all-conditions) and the top wind-legal time in all of NCAA Division III history (13.53). Her 13.38 ranks No. 2 all-time among all DIII performers under any wind conditions and sits atop the 2026 NCAA Division III national rankings in the 100-meter hurdles.
The performance continues a remarkable senior campaign for Garceau, who has established herself as one of the elite hurdlers in college athletics. Her efforts in Austin represent UMass Boston, the Little East Conference, and Division III at the highest level of collegiate competition.
