Garceau Wins Fourth Consecutive LEC Athlete of the Week

Providence, RI (April 20, 2026) – For the fourth consecutive week, the Little East Conference has named UMass Boston sprinter Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) its LEC Track Athlete of the Week, following a pair of historic performances that propelled her up the national rankings over the weekend.

At the Bonnie Edmondson Classic hosted by Eastern Connecticut State on Friday (April 17), Garceau took to the long jump runway and won the event with a leap of 5.65 meters. The mark ranks first in the Little East Conference and 22nd in NCAA Division III.

She followed up on Saturday at the UConn Northeast Challenge with standout performances in both the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. In the 100m hurdles, Garceau posted a record-breaking wind-legal time of 13.45 seconds to win the event outright, a mark that stands as the second-fastest in NCAA DIII history. She then placed third in the 200m dash with a time of 24.36 seconds, which ranks 13th in NCAA Division III.

Garceau and the Beacons return to competition Saturday, April 25, when they travel to Eastern Connecticut State for the 2026 LEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
